All of his groomsmen insisted. During their 10-man joint toast to their friend Justin, they stood up and proclaimed that she made him the happiest they’d ever seen. That she put the biggest smile on his face. And that, no matter what, she’d always have free dental coverage. You see, Justin is a dentist. And aside from having ridiculously perfect teeth, Jean and Justin just have it. You know, it. That thing. That, for lack of a better word, ness. You know, calmness, fabulousness, sweetness. It was just so easy. The day. The love. The celebration. It all came together, so smooth and naturally. And like Jean and Justin, the day was beautiful.
At our initial consultation, Jean brought along her sister and her parents. By the time the wedding day rolled around, I felt like I was part of the family. I helped her mother with her dress, I danced with her father and I had a very girly conversation with her sister. I wouldn’t have had it any other way. It’s people like Jean and Justin (and their family…and friends!) that make me adore my job. At the end of the day, as I was giving Jean & Justin my final blessings before leaving, Jean hugged me and said Ala, I’m so glad I met you. And my heart melted a little because in all honesty, I am the lucky one. Thank you both so much for letting me share in your day. I hope you’re enjoying Maui as a married couple. Please get a massage for me!

I have to say a huge thank you to Diandra Ann for coming along to shoot with me. And another huge thank you to Terre from Marry Me Lounge. She kept me fed AND helped keep the day right on schedule.
Jean got ready at the Temecula Creek Inn, the same location as their reception and their engagement session.
Jean is so stunning. She slipped into her dress and everyone, including me, lost their breath.
Jean and her sister Joan waited in the limo before the ceremony started. They couldn’t help but say hello to arriving guests. I think this photo sums them up perfectly.
Love when couples steal a silly glance or share smiles during the ceremony. It’s like they’re in their own little world. Swoon!
After the ceremony, Jean took a few seconds for a touch-up. Love this image!
We were pressed for time when we started taking couple portraits but you couldn’t tell with these two lovebirds. They were so happy.
Sitting in your wedding attire = definitely my type of bride!
I’ll end with one of my favorite reception shots. While Jean & Justin shared their first dance, I caught their guests in the same moment. Love all the different things going on here. So much.
