Anna & Alex : Engaged

Their love story begins in New York City. Alex had lived in New York for exactly three days and was headed to a magazine party to cover the first event for his new writing job. Anna was beginning her second year at NYU and was ready for a night out, dancing and hanging with friends. Being worlds apart for most of their lives up until then, this night was THE night. The night Alex spotted Anna’s green eyes, auburn hair and beautifully porcelain skin. While in line for the photobooth, Anna and Alex shared laughs, smiles and lots of flirting that continued through the night, long after the party ended. It was THE night. There, on the steps of the National Museum of the American Indian, their two worlds collided.

I don’t think it’s a coincidence that I’m writing about their New York love story the same week I fell in love with New York City. Anna, Alex and I, we just fit. The connection we have made is one I’m incredibly grateful for. We see the world through similar eyes. They are kind, love life, appreciate a fine wine and those great restaurants no one has heard of yet. Everyday is an adventure, a new opportunity to push forward and reach farther, together. Plus, how could I not love them just for the simple fact they think I’m funny. My world is definitely more interesting and beautiful with them in it. Steven and I cannot wait to capture these two as they marry at the Hotel Hacienda de Cortés in Cuernavaca, Mexico. It is sure to be a fiesta to remember!

Anna and Alex, thank you for your friendship. I don’t know why or how you were brought into our lives but we are so thankful to for our experiences together. Steven and I are so excited to be a part of your continued story from Mexico to Oakland and beyond. xo

We began our session wandering around the Standard Hotel in downtown Los Angeles. The light was perfect.Anna & Alex are so incredibly loving to one another. Totally comfortable just letting go in embraces.

Several times going through these photos, I would yell to Steven about Anna’s beauty. Isn’t she timeless?

We headed to the Santa Monica Pier to catch the last bits of sunlight. Anna & Alex totally let loose and I think these photos are representative of their colorful personalities. This is a favorite for sure!I’m pretty sure Anna is laughing at my jokes and Alex is staring at Steven wondering how the heck he tolerates me. =)We ended the evening on the ferris wheel. None of us were dressed for the cold but that doesn’t matter when kisses and cuddles are involved.Love.

  • […] Anna and Alex met and fell in love in New York. But that’s just a small snippet of their big story. Throughout their lives and their relationship, they have lived all around the world. Seattle and New York and Los Angeles and Mexico and Spain and San Francisco and lots of pretty places in between. In fact, as a little girl, it was on a trip to Mexico with her father that Anna fell in love with an entire country. The beauty, the language, the culture. Everything. She soaked up all she could from her time there and vowed one way or another to return. Little did she know she would eventually find her way back, this time to make a different kind of vow. […]
